Wine, Dine and Be Merry at Town Restaurant
The buffet spread
Located at the lobby of Fullerton Hotel Singapore, Town Restaurant features an eclectic mix of local and international cuisine. The restaurant's vast offerings allow diners to take their taste buds on a gastronomic tour around the globe.
The romantic Singapore River
The simplistic decor of the restaurant makes it stand out from the lush setting of the hotel. The ambience is understated, charming and elegant. You can choose to dine in the comfort of the restaurant or al fresco along the romantic Singapore River.
Sitting outside Town Restaurant
Service is efficient and the wait-staff are competent and approachable.
The buffet is quite extensive and there is a lavish array of salads, seafood, hot dishes and delectable desserts to satiate even the most discerning gourmand.
The Japanese section offers fresh, thinly sliced mixed sashimi and a lovely selection of sushi and cha soba.
The pasta station
There is also pasta station where pastas are prepared à la minute. Diners can choose from a range of pastas and sauces. Those who are inclined towards Indian food will be delighted with the naan and condiments at the Indian counter.
My favourite items from the buffet are the salads, Japanese sashimi and sushi, fresh seafood and the wondrous desserts. The hot dishes pale in comparison.
Cranberry and pistachio madeleine
Those with a sweet tooth can satiate their cravings by indulging in the marvellous dessert spread. Must tries include the cranberry and pistachio madeleine, spiced pumpkin crème brûlée, peach crumble, fruit cake and of course, chocolate fondue with strawberry, honeydew, pineapple and marshmallow.
Chocolate Fondue with fresh fruits
During New Year's Eve, the restaurant is serving an extravagant buffet dinner priced at $398++ per adult with free flow of champagne ($228++ without alcohol). You'll get to relish a luxurious selection of gastronomic fare including slow-roasted butternut with ricotta cheese, arugula and shaved pecorino cheese, foie gras terrine with port wine aspic and kumquat chutney, akaroa salmon confit, pan-roasted lobster claw with lemon grass, Thai red curry, slow-roasted prime rib with Yorkshire pudding and wild mushroom sauce and a medley of fresh seafood.
