Splendid Sunday Brunch with an Amazing View at ToTT"s and Roof Terrace at The Excelsior, Hong Kong

The Roof Terrace

Strategically located at the 34th level of The Excelsior, ToTT’s (Talk of the Town) and Roof Terrace is one of the most stunning places to dine in. With a spectacular view of Hong Kong’s skyline and Victoria Harbour, it makes one calm and relaxed instantly.

The interior

Assorted Sushi

I recommend going for the legendary Sunday Brunch, which offers fresh seafood, salads, sushi, sashimi, assorted cold cuts and cheeses, oyster bar, made-to-order main courses and a rapturous repertoire of desserts.

The mesmerising view

Other than the stunning view, what really impressed me was the warm service, making me feel pampered like a queen.

Captivating view of Victoria Harbour

Dining table facing the amazing view

The décor is contemporary and elegant with floor-to-ceiling windows which make the restaurant look spacious and the view more breathtaking.

Seafood on ice

From the cold appetiser section, I really like the Atlantic prawns and the crab legs which were fresh and helped to whet my appetite for the mains.

Poached egg, portobello duxelle, spinach and hollandaise short crust tart

The main course selection is quite extensive with a combination of delectable brunch favourites and lunch specials. From the brunch items, I like the poached egg, portobello duxelle, spinach and hollandaise short crust tart. It resembled the eggs benedict but serving it in a crispy tart makes it a little unique and the combination of the fluffy tart with the melt-in-your-mouth poached egg makes it really divine. Other brunch offerings include the smashed avocado and ricotta on toast, Alaskan crab and mascarpone toast and summer truffle and baby asparagus omelette and chargrilled sourdough.

Carving station

From the carving station, you can look forward to succulent roast prime rib of beef and Yorkshire pudding.

Tomato, goat cheese risotto

If you want something substantial, I would recommend the tomato, goat cheese risotto which is refreshingly tangy, providing a taste of summer. The addition of the goat cheese brings out the flavour and gives it a rich, creamy texture. The risotto has a smooth consistency while still retaining a firm bite.

Truffle and potato gnocchi with short rib ragout

If you prefer a pasta dish, try the truffle and potato gnocchi with short rib ragout. The blend of truffle, potato and short rib ragout is delightful, bringing joy to the taste-buds.

Roasted red snapper, fennel and blood orange salad

For those who desire a healthier option, go for the roasted red snapper, fennel and blood orange salad. The fish is pan-fried to perfection and complements well with fennel which gives it a fresh, crisp texture and orange salad which provides delightful citrus accents.

Char grilled octopus with chorizo and watercress

The char grilled octopus with chorizo and watercress is also another highlight. The smoky flavours go well with the savoury taste of the chorizo and the freshness of the watercress.

Barbecued quail

If you like something unique, try the barbecued quail with green sauce which is a little similar to the pesto. The quail has a very pleasant taste, with a delicate texture and super tender meat. I did not get the chance to try the charred iberico pork ribs and the beef sliders, will probably do so the next time.

Delightful desserts

The lovely plethora of desserts will definitely impress anyone with a sweet tooth. Some of the amazing treats to look out for include red velvet cream cake, bread and butter pudding, passion fruit cream and chocolate truffle tart, fruit crumble, pistachio cherry mousse cake, poached Champagne pear, chocolate fondue, mixed nut tart, raspberry cake, Häagen-Dazs ice cream, fresh fruits and more.
