Eggs Atlantic to nourish the body and the soul
NOM (No Other Meaning) is a relatively new bistro and bakery located at MacPherson Community Club. It was formerly called Yesterdae Café and its previous location was at Circuit Road. Yesterdae has rebranded to NOM and it is now a full-fledged outlet offering an extensive range of healthy salads, light bites, pizzas and desserts with an emphasis on homemade cakes from the outlet’s built in bakery in the bistro. NOM boasts a delightful array of delectable cakes, with the rainbow cake being the most popular of all.
The bistro’s décor is understated and simple. While it looks contemporary, it lacks the warmth of many local bistros. I find the ambience a little bare and cold. However, the menu looks quite impressive for a neighbourhood bistro located at the heartland.
I chanced upon the café as I attend KpopX Fitness classes at MacPherson Community Club every Sunday. I have been wanting to try the food and I was glad that my hubby and managed to try it finally yesterday. The food is pretty decent and prices are very reasonable.

Portobello salad
For health buffs, I would recommend the Portobello salad ($7.90++), which is a lovely combination of mixed greens, Portobello and vinaigrette. The portion is substantial enough for a meal and it is great for those who are on a diet.

Eggs Atlantic
The brunch items are pretty appealing. My hubby had the classic Eggs Benedict ($9.90++) while I had the Eggs Atlantic ($12.90++). The Eggs Atlantic consists of smoked salmon, poached eggs, English muffin and Hollandaise. The taste was pleasant, although I would have preferred my egg yolk runny.

Eggs Benedict
Bacon should have been used for the Eggs Benedict instead of picnic ham to give it a crispy texture. Sauteed spinach on the muffin would have enhanced the flavour, texture and presentation.

Chocolate ganache cake
The chocolate ganache cake ($5.90++) was a winning creation. Ganache is a French term referring to the smooth, velvety texture of chopped chocolate and heavy cream. This dessert was excellently executed and tasted even better than the renowned Lana cake. It was wickedly delish and will definitely satiate the craving of any chocoholic.
NOM is located at 400 Kallang-Paya Lebar Way, Macpherson Community Club Level 1, Singapore 379131. The bistro is open from 11am to 11pm daily.
