Enjoying the tarts
I have a great affinity for Drips Bakery Café as it serves amazing tarts and desserts and provides a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Drips is located at Tiong Poh Road (Tiong Bahru area) and is relatively near my workplace, therefore it is the place I will go to when I am craving for something sweet.

With my colleagues
The café is cosy and is akin to stepping into someone’s home. The décor is minimalistic with white washed walls and wooden tiles. Abstract paintings adorn the walls and add some elements of colour to the café.
Drips is helmed by Co-owner Alfred Chan, who went from baking at Shangri-la to opening a bakery at Commonwealth to starting this lovely café.
In addition to tarts, Drips offers soups, salads, quiche, sandwiches and other savoury bites. However, majority of the customers go there for the tarts.
Here are some of Drip's popular tarts.

Mixed Berries Tart ($8.80)
For a taste of Spring, go for this antioxidant rich tart. I don’t feel guilty eating this although I’m sure it is high in calories. It abounds with fresh blueberries and raspberries giving it a zesty, invigorating flavour. The citrus notes contrast with the sweet, creamy texture of the egg custard and the crumbly tart.

Macadamia Nut Tart ($8)
This delectable tart has a buttery and crumbly crust and is generously topped with whole macadamia nuts. It has the right degree of sweetness and is not too overwhelming. The nutty sensation brings a burst of delight in every mouthful. Not to be missed by macadamia nuts fans.

Salted Chocolate Caramel ($7)
This tart has a rich and intense chocolate flavour coupled with the sweetness of caramel. Chocolate ganache is combined with salted caramel, giving it a delightful flavour. Perfect for chocoholics.

Dark Chocolate Tart ($7) and Cinnamon Egg Tart ($5)
The dark chocolate tart is my favourite tart. The crust is light and crunchy while the interior is filled with rich, luscious chocolate mousse sprinkled with cocoa powder at the top, oozing sheer decadence in every bite.
Overall, Drips Bakery Café is an ideal place to relax, have a tête-à-tête with friends, escape the hustle and bustle of the city and indulge in irresistible tarts.
