Hearty Italian-American Cuisine at LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar

The Chic Interior

Situated on level 57, LAVO is a swanky Italian-American concept which houses a restaurant, bar and nightclub under one roof. Overlooking the mesmerising Marina Bay, the ambience is chic with magnificent lounge chairs and a glitzy bar. It has an unbeat vibe with electrifying 80s music by Madonna, Belinda Carlisle and other well-known pop singers, beckoning diners to dine, drink, let their hair down and party the night away. It is a pity that we could not admire the breathtaking view due to the heavy rain.

Food at LAVO is hearty with a selection of appetisers, salads, pizzas, pastas, house specialities, grilled items and desserts.

Tuna Tartare

Our dining experience commenced with the Tuna Tartare (S$33), a revitalising mix of yellow fin tuna, avocado, crispy garlic and black olive dressing. Our taste buds were enraptured by the sweet harmony of various textures and flavours. The brininess of the black olives complemented the freshness of the tuna and creaminess of the avocado and the crispy garlic added a crunchy, nutty dimension to the overall taste.

Linguine White Clams

For the pastas, my hubby had the Linguine White Clams (S$39++) accompanied with garlic, toasted breadcrumbs and pepperoncini while I had the Penne Seafood Alfredo (S$41++). The Linguine White Clams was savoury with hint of spiciness from the pepperoncini. The garlic and toasted breadcrumbs gave it a gentle aroma and a light crunchy texture. Taste was pleasant, just a little on the salty side.

Penne Seafood Alfredo

The Penne Seafood Alfredo was a burst of creamy goodness with bountiful servings of scallops and prawns in a rich lobster butter sauce. Both my son and I enjoyed it as it was a simple creation executed to perfection.

Oven-baked Meatball Pizza

Our favourite dish for the evening was the Oven-baked Meatball Pizza (S$35++) which was delish despite its ordinary name. The succulent wagyu meatball, coupled with the zesty tomato agrodolce, creamy ricotta and sweet capsicum created an innovative combination of sweet, savoury and creamy flavours with a hint of spiciness. If you love pizzas, this is definitely the dish for you.

20-Layer Chocolate Cake

One must not leave LAVO without indulging in their plethora of delectable treats. We decided to go for the House Special - the 20 Layer Chocolate Cake (S$24++). Decadently divine, it was decked out with luscious alternate layers of chocolate devil's food cake and peanut butter mascarpone. What can be more sinful than this? Perfect for die-hard fans of chocolate and peanut butter, but not for the faint-hearted! It is recommended that you bring along at least three or four accompanying friends to enjoy this luxurious treat.
